Requirements

• Education: GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery) or B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
• Registration: Valid state nursing council registration (e.g., Maharashtra Nursing Council).
• Experience: Relevant experience in OT or Cathlab management, often requiring 10-15 years for senior roles, though some roles may accept 0-5 years.
• Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and patient care skills.

Core Responsibilities

1. Departmental Management & Scheduling

• Daily Operations: Oversee the daily workflow of both the OT and Cathlab to ensure timely surgical and interventional procedures.
• Scheduling: Plan and manage surgical lists and cardiac procedure schedules, coordinating with various departments to avoid conflicts.
• Staff Allocation: Assign nursing and technical staff to specific procedures and manage duty rosters to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.

2. Staff Supervision & Training

• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, technicians, and support personnel.
• Performance Monitoring: Conduct regular performance evaluations and skill assessments for the team.
• Professional Development: Organize and lead training sessions on advanced OT/Cathlab procedures, new equipment, and safety protocols.

3. Equipment & Inventory Control

• Asset Maintenance: Ensure all specialized equipment (e.g., imaging monitors, ventilators, surgical robots) is functional, calibrated, and maintained regularly.
• Inventory Management: Oversee the procurement and stock levels of essential medical supplies, medications, and sterile instruments.
• Sterilization Liaison: Coordinate with the Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) for the timely supply of sterile materials.

4. Quality Assurance & Patient Safety

• Protocol Enforcement: Implement and monitor strict adherence to infection control, sterilization, and radiation safety standards.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all procedures and documentation meet NABH or other relevant hospital quality standards.
• Emergency Oversight: Lead the team during emergency interventions or crisis situations, ensuring rapid response and adherence to life-support protocols.
