Staff Nurse

Job Summary

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, assisting doctors, and ensuring smooth functioning of the assigned ward/ICU. The role involves patient monitoring, medication administration, and maintaining accurate documentation as per hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Care

• Provide direct nursing care to patients as per treatment plan
• Monitor vital signs and report abnormalities to doctors
• Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge of patients
• Maintain patient hygiene and comfort

2. Clinical Duties

• Administer medications and IV fluids as prescribed
• Assist doctors during procedures and rounds
• Handle emergency situations efficiently (CPR, code blue, etc.)
• Manage ICU/ward equipment and ensure readiness

3. Documentation

• Maintain accurate nursing records and reports
• Ensure proper charting of medications and treatment
• Follow NABH documentation standards

4. Infection Control

• Follow hospital infection control protocols
• Maintain cleanliness and sterilization standards
• Proper biomedical waste segregation

5. Coordination

• Coordinate with doctors, physiotherapists, and other departments
• Communicate effectively with patients and relatives
• Ensure smooth handover between shifts

6. Equipment & Inventory

• Check and maintain medical equipment
• Ensure availability of required consumables
• Report any malfunction to biomedical team

Qualifications

• GNM / B.Sc Nursing
• Registered with State Nursing Council

Experience

• 0–2 years (Freshers can apply)
• ICU/Cardiac experience preferred (if applicable)

Skills Required

• Good clinical knowledge and patient care skills
• Strong communication and teamwork
• Ability to handle emergency situations
• Basic computer knowledge for documentation

Working Conditions

• Rotational shifts (Morning / Evening / Night)
• Week-offs as per hospital policy

Reporting To

• Nurse In-Charge / Nursing Superintendent

Pay: From ₹18,000.00 per month
